Ultherapy
Focused ultrasound treatment targeting the deeper structural layers of the face and neck
Book a ConsultationWhat it is
Focused ultrasound for the deeper skin structure
Ultherapy is a non-invasive focused ultrasound treatment that delivers energy to the deeper structural layers of the skin — including the superficial musculoaponeurotic system (SMAS), the same layer addressed in surgical facelifts. By targeting this deeper layer, Ultherapy aims to stimulate collagen production in tissue that surface-level treatments do not reach.
Ultherapy uses micro-focused ultrasound with visualisation (MFU-V), which allows the treating practitioner to see the tissue layers being targeted in real time before and during treatment. Energy is deposited at precise depths, creating controlled thermal injury points that may stimulate the body's natural collagen remodelling response over the months following treatment.
All treatments are performed by qualified practitioners at Regenesis following a thorough assessment. As with all treatments, individual responses vary and suitability is confirmed at consultation.

Technology used
How Ultherapy works
Ultherapy uses micro-focused ultrasound with real-time visualisation to deliver energy at controlled depths in the skin. The ultrasound imaging allows the practitioner to see the tissue layers before and during treatment, aiming to direct energy to the most appropriate depth for each area.
What to expect
The treatment experience
Your first appointment begins with a thorough skin and facial assessment. Your practitioner will assess the tissue layers, discuss your concerns and determine whether Ultherapy is an appropriate treatment for your goals and skin. Pricing is confirmed at this appointment.
Your practitioner will advise on comfort management options prior to your appointment, based on your individual situation and the areas being treated. During the procedure, the Ultherapy handpiece is placed against the skin and ultrasound energy is delivered in controlled pulses. You may feel warmth, tingling or a brief sharp sensation as the energy is deposited — individual experiences vary.
Following treatment, the skin may appear mildly flushed and feel sensitive. Some clients experience mild swelling or tenderness in the treated area for several days. Individual recovery varies. Your practitioner will provide specific aftercare guidance at your appointment.
Sessions + Downtime
Treatment plan and timeline
For many clients, a single Ultherapy session forms the basis of the initial treatment plan, with the collagen response developing progressively over the 3 to 6 months following treatment. Some clients may benefit from additional sessions depending on the degree of laxity and individual response. Your practitioner will discuss a personalised plan at consultation.
Downtime is generally minimal for most clients. Mild redness, swelling and sensitivity in the treated area may be present for several days following treatment, though individual responses vary. Most clients are able to return to normal activities within a day or two in most cases.
The collagen remodelling response from Ultherapy develops gradually. Changes in the tissue may continue to be apparent over a period of several months following treatment. As with all treatments, individual responses vary and realistic expectations are discussed at consultation.
