AI-guided radiofrequency and ultrasound for skin laxity

Exion RF is a non-invasive treatment that combines AI-guided monopolar radiofrequency (RF) with focused ultrasound energy to address skin laxity and support collagen and hyaluronic acid production in the dermis. It is one of the few devices that targets hyaluronic acid production alongside collagen — a distinction relevant for skin that has become drier or thinner over time.

The AI component of the device monitors and adjusts energy delivery in real time, aiming to maintain a consistent therapeutic temperature in the tissue throughout the session. This approach may support a more controlled treatment response compared to manual radiofrequency devices.

All treatments are performed by qualified practitioners at Regenesis following a thorough skin assessment at consultation. Suitability is confirmed before any treatment begins.

Skin concerns

This treatment may assist with the following concerns. Suitability is confirmed at consultation.

  • Skin laxity on the face, neck and décolletage
  • Skin dryness associated with reduced hyaluronic acid levels
  • Loss of skin density and collagen quality
  • Periorbital laxity and under-eye skin quality concerns
  • Overall skin quality as part of an ongoing skin health plan
  • Skin changes associated with perimenopause and menopause

How Exion RF works

Exion RF combines two energy types — monopolar radiofrequency and focused ultrasound — delivered simultaneously through a single handpiece. The AI system monitors tissue temperature throughout the session, adjusting energy output in response. This aims to support a consistent treatment depth and a more controlled thermal response in the dermis.

Exion RF — BTL
AI-guided monopolar RF combined with focused ultrasound. The device monitors tissue temperature in real time and adjusts delivery accordingly. Targets both collagen and hyaluronic acid production in the dermis. Treatments are performed without needles and generally require little to no recovery. Pricing from $400 per session — confirmed at consultation based on treatment area.

The treatment experience

Your first appointment begins with a skin assessment. Your practitioner will assess your skin, discuss your concerns and confirm the treatment areas and approach. Your skin will be cleansed at the start of your appointment.

During treatment, the Exion RF handpiece is moved across the treatment area in a controlled pattern. Most clients describe a consistent warming sensation throughout the session. The AI system adjusts energy delivery as the treatment progresses. Sessions typically take between 20 and 45 minutes depending on the area being treated.

Following treatment, the skin in the treated area may appear mildly flushed and feel warm. This typically settles within a few hours. Most clients are able to return to their normal routine shortly after their appointment, though individual responses vary.

Treatment plan and maintenance

A minimum of 4 sessions is recommended for Exion RF. Sessions are typically spaced 1 to 2 weeks apart for the initial course. Collagen and hyaluronic acid production occur progressively — the skin's response continues to develop in the weeks following each session and across the treatment course.

Maintenance sessions are often recommended following the initial course to support the skin's response over time. The frequency of maintenance varies by individual and will be discussed at your consultation.

Downtime is generally minimal for most clients. Your practitioner will advise on appropriate aftercare at your appointment. Sun protection is recommended throughout your treatment course.

Common questions

Is this treatment appropriate for my skin type?+
Exion RF uses radiofrequency energy rather than light, which means skin tone is generally not a limiting factor in the same way it can be with some laser treatments. Suitability is confirmed at consultation — your practitioner will assess your skin, health history and any relevant contraindications before recommending treatment.
What does the treatment feel like?+
Most clients describe a consistent warming sensation during treatment. The AI system monitors tissue temperature and adjusts delivery throughout the session. Individual comfort levels vary — your practitioner can adjust the settings based on your response during treatment.
How is Exion RF different from Exilis 360?+
Both Exion RF and Exilis 360 use monopolar radiofrequency energy for skin laxity. Exion RF additionally incorporates focused ultrasound and an AI-guided temperature monitoring system, and specifically targets hyaluronic acid production alongside collagen. Your practitioner will assess your skin at consultation and recommend the most appropriate device for your individual concerns.
How many sessions will I need?+
A minimum of 4 sessions is recommended. The number of sessions depends on the treatment area, your skin and your individual response. Your practitioner will provide a personalised recommendation at your initial consultation.
How should I prepare for my appointment?+
Arrive with clean skin in the treatment area — avoid applying heavy creams, oils or makeup. Stay well hydrated before and after each session. Let your practitioner know about any medications you are taking or any changes to your health. Avoid sun exposure in the treatment area for 48 hours before your appointment.
Are there any contraindications?+
Exion RF is not appropriate for individuals with certain implanted electronic devices such as pacemakers, metal implants in the treatment area, active skin conditions in the treatment area or certain medical conditions. It is not recommended during pregnancy. Your practitioner will conduct a full screening at consultation to confirm suitability.
Are there any risks or side effects?+
Potential side effects include temporary redness, warmth and mild swelling in the treated area. These typically settle within a few hours in most cases. As with all treatments, individual responses vary and your practitioner will discuss all relevant risks and considerations at your consultation before proceeding.
Is this treatment recommended during pregnancy?+
Exion RF is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Please advise your practitioner before booking.
