MesoElite microneedling at Regenesis Aesthetic + Wellness, Kent Town SA

TGA-cleared microneedling for collagen induction

MesoElite is a TGA-cleared microneedling device that uses a controlled array of fine needles to create micro-channels in the skin at a precisely calibrated depth. This mechanical stimulus triggers the skin's natural wound-healing response, which may support collagen and elastin production in the treated area over the weeks following treatment.

Microneedling at Regenesis may be performed as a standalone treatment or combined with the application of active serums or solutions delivered through the micro-channels created during the procedure. The combination approach may support a more targeted treatment response — serums selected based on your skin's individual concerns and confirmed at consultation.

All treatments are performed by qualified practitioners at Regenesis following a thorough skin assessment. As with all treatments, individual responses vary and suitability is confirmed before any treatment begins.

Skin concerns

This treatment may assist with the following concerns. Suitability is confirmed at consultation.

  • Skin texture irregularities and enlarged pores
  • Post-acne scarring and atrophic scarring
  • Fine lines and early wrinkle formation
  • Skin laxity and loss of dermal density
  • Dull or low-quality skin tone and texture
  • Pigmentation changes associated with post-inflammatory response
  • Overall skin quality as part of a broader treatment plan
  • Skin changes associated with perimenopause and menopause

How MesoElite works

The MesoElite device uses an automated needling tip with a controlled array of fine needles. Needle depth is adjusted based on the treatment area and the concerns being addressed — typically between 0.5mm and 2.5mm depending on the area and individual assessment. The device delivers consistent, controlled needle penetration across the treatment area.

MesoElite — TGA-cleared Microneedling
Automated microneedling device with adjustable needle depth. May be used with topical serums applied during or after needling to support targeted treatment outcomes. TGA-cleared for use in aesthetic practice. If topical anaesthetic is required, your practitioner will advise you on application instructions prior to your appointment. From $400 per session — active serums are an additional cost where used, confirmed at consultation.

The treatment experience

Your first appointment begins with a skin assessment. Your practitioner will assess your skin, discuss your concerns and determine the treatment approach, needle depth and any serums to be used. Your skin will be cleansed at the start of your appointment. If topical anaesthetic is required, your practitioner will advise you on application instructions prior to your appointment.

During treatment, the MesoElite handpiece is moved across the treatment area in a controlled pattern. Most clients describe a mild sensation of pressure and vibration during treatment, though individual experiences vary. Sessions typically take between 30 and 60 minutes depending on the area being treated, not including any pre-treatment preparation time.

Following treatment the skin will typically appear red and feel sensitive — similar in appearance to mild sunburn. Some pinpoint bleeding may be present depending on the needle depth used. These responses are expected and typically begin to settle over the following 24 to 48 hours, though individual recovery timelines vary.

Treatment plan and recovery

A minimum of 3 sessions is recommended for MesoElite needling. Sessions are spaced 4 weeks apart to allow adequate recovery and collagen remodelling between treatments. The skin's response continues to develop in the weeks following each session — collagen induction is a progressive process.

Downtime is typically 1 to 3 days for most clients, though this varies depending on needle depth, the area treated and individual skin response. During recovery you may experience redness, mild swelling and some dryness or peeling as the skin renews. Specific aftercare instructions will be provided at your appointment.

Sun protection is particularly important following this treatment. The skin is more sensitive in the days following treatment and UV exposure should be minimised. Daily SPF 50+ is recommended throughout and following your treatment course.

As with all treatments that involve skin disruption, risks are associated with microneedling. Your practitioner will discuss all relevant risks and aftercare requirements at your consultation before proceeding.

Common questions

Is this treatment appropriate for my skin type?+
Microneedling is generally well tolerated across a broad range of skin types and tones. Because the treatment works mechanically rather than through light energy, it is not dependent on skin tone in the same way some laser treatments are. Suitability is confirmed at consultation — your practitioner will assess your skin, health history and any relevant contraindications before recommending treatment.
Is the treatment uncomfortable?+
Your practitioner will advise on comfort management prior to your appointment. Most clients find the procedure manageable, though individual experiences vary. You may feel pressure and mild vibration during treatment. Your practitioner will check in on your comfort throughout the session and can adjust the approach based on your response.
How is MesoElite different from Exion Fractional?+
MesoElite is a mechanical microneedling device — it creates micro-channels through fine needle penetration alone. Exion Fractional combines microneedling with radiofrequency energy delivered at the needle tip, targeting a deeper thermal response in the dermis. MesoElite typically involves less downtime and is often appropriate for a broader range of skin types, concerns and entry-level collagen induction. Your practitioner will discuss which approach is more appropriate for your skin at consultation.
How should I prepare for my appointment?+
Avoid sun exposure and tanning for at least 2 weeks before treatment. Avoid retinoids and exfoliating acids for 5 to 7 days prior. Your practitioner will cleanse the skin at the start of your appointment. Let your practitioner know about any medications you are taking, any active skin conditions and any recent cosmetic treatments. If topical anaesthetic is required for your treatment, your practitioner will advise you on application timing and instructions prior to your appointment.
Can serums be used during treatment?+
Yes — microneedling may be combined with topical serums applied during or after the procedure to support targeted treatment outcomes. The serums used depend on your skin concerns and are selected at consultation. There is an additional cost for serums where used. Your practitioner will discuss serum options relevant to your skin at your appointment.
How many sessions will I need?+
A minimum of 3 sessions is recommended. The total number depends on your skin concerns, the severity of any scarring or textural issues and your individual response to treatment. Your practitioner will provide a personalised plan at your initial consultation.
Are there any risks or side effects?+
Potential side effects include redness, mild swelling, pinpoint bleeding, sensitivity and dryness during the recovery period. In some cases, pigmentation changes or infection may occur. Risks are managed through thorough pre-treatment screening, appropriate needle depth selection and proper aftercare. Your practitioner will discuss all relevant risks at your consultation before any treatment proceeds.
Is this treatment recommended during pregnancy?+
Microneedling is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Please advise your practitioner before booking.
