Collagen Induction
Laser-based collagen stimulation for improved skin quality, firmness and texture

What it is
Laser-stimulated collagen production
Collagen is the primary structural protein in the skin. It maintains firmness, elasticity and overall skin quality. From our mid-twenties onwards, natural collagen production begins to decline — a process that accelerates with sun exposure, hormonal changes and other environmental factors.
Laser collagen induction uses controlled energy to create a thermal response in the skin, signalling the body to produce new collagen and elastin in the treated area. The result is a gradual improvement in skin quality, firmness and texture over the weeks and months following treatment.
At Regenesis, we use two laser platforms for collagen induction, selected based on your skin type, concerns and what your skin is capable of at the time of treatment. All treatments are performed by qualified practitioners following a thorough skin assessment.

Technology used
Devices at Regenesis
Your practitioner will determine which device is most appropriate for your skin at consultation. Both platforms stimulate collagen through different mechanisms and are suited to different skin presentations.
What to expect
The treatment experience
Your first appointment begins with a thorough skin assessment. Your practitioner will review your skin, discuss your concerns and determine which device and approach are most appropriate. Your skin will be cleansed at the start of your appointment.
During treatment, the laser handpiece is passed over the treatment area in a controlled pattern. You may feel warmth or a mild tingling sensation depending on the device used. Sessions typically take between 30 and 60 minutes depending on the area being treated.
Immediately after treatment your skin may appear flushed and feel warm — similar to mild sunburn. This typically settles within a few hours to a day. Collagen remodelling occurs progressively over the weeks following treatment, with skin quality continuing to improve across your treatment course.
Sessions + Downtime
Treatment plan and recovery
A minimum of 3 sessions is recommended for laser collagen induction. Results are cumulative — each session builds on the last, with collagen remodelling continuing between appointments. Your practitioner will recommend a personalised plan at consultation based on your skin and goals.
Sessions are typically spaced 2 to 4 weeks apart to allow the skin to recover and the collagen response to develop between treatments.
Downtime is generally 1 to 3 days, depending on the device used and the intensity of treatment. You may experience redness, mild dryness and a slightly rough skin texture as new skin cells turn over. Specific aftercare instructions will be provided at your appointment.
Sun protection is essential throughout your treatment course. UV exposure can compromise the skin's collagen response and should be minimised where possible.
