What it is
Laser-based pigmentation treatment
Depigmentation treatments at Regenesis use medical-grade laser technology to target excess melanin in the skin — the pigment responsible for age spots, sun damage, post-inflammatory pigmentation and uneven skin tone.
We use a range of laser platforms depending on your skin type, the nature of your pigmentation and the depth at which it sits. Each device works differently and your practitioner will assess which approach is appropriate for your skin at consultation.
All depigmentation treatments are performed by qualified practitioners. A thorough skin assessment is conducted before any treatment begins.

Devices at Regenesis
We have multiple laser platforms available for depigmentation. Your practitioner will determine which device or combination is most appropriate for your skin at consultation.
What to expect
The treatment experience
Your first appointment begins with a skin assessment. Your practitioner will examine your pigmentation, assess your skin type and determine which device is most appropriate. A patch test may be recommended prior to treatment.
During treatment, the laser handpiece is passed over the treatment area. You may feel a warming or mild snapping sensation depending on the device used. Sessions typically take between 45 and 60 minutes depending on the area being treated.
Immediately after treatment you may notice redness, mild swelling or darkening of the pigmented areas. This is a normal skin response. Pigmentation will typically darken before it fades over the following days.
Sessions + Downtime
Treatment plan and recovery
Most clients require a minimum of 4 to 6 sessions. The number of sessions depends on the type and depth of pigmentation, skin tone and individual response to treatment. Your practitioner will discuss a recommended plan at consultation.
Sessions are typically spaced 2 to 4 weeks apart to allow the skin to recover between treatments.
Downtime varies by device and individual. You may experience redness, dryness, mild flaking and darkening of the treated pigment in the days following treatment. Specific aftercare instructions will be provided at your appointment.
Sun protection is essential throughout your treatment course. Unprotected sun exposure can stimulate further pigment production and affect your skin's response to treatment.
