Combined RF and pressure energy for cellulite and skin texture

Emtone is a non-invasive body treatment by BTL that simultaneously delivers radiofrequency (RF) energy and targeted pressure energy to the skin and underlying tissue. This dual-energy approach targets several of the contributing factors associated with the appearance of cellulite — including collagen structure changes in the dermis, reduced circulation and increased fluid retention in the tissue.

Cellulite is a complex structural condition influenced by factors including tissue architecture, circulation, hormones and skin quality. Emtone addresses the tissue environment rather than any single causative factor — and as with all cellulite treatments, individual responses vary considerably. Realistic expectations are discussed at consultation before any treatment proceeds.

All treatments are performed by qualified practitioners at Regenesis. Suitability is confirmed at consultation before any treatment begins.

Where we treat

Emtone may be appropriate for the following body areas. Treatment areas and suitability are confirmed at consultation.

  • Thighs — inner, outer and posterior
  • Buttocks
  • Abdomen
  • Upper arms
  • Other body areas — assessed at consultation

The two energies working simultaneously

Emtone delivers both radiofrequency and targeted pressure energy at the same time through a single handpiece. The two energies work on different aspects of the tissue environment simultaneously.

Radiofrequency
Thermal RF energy heats the dermis and sub-dermal tissue, which may support collagen remodelling and address skin quality changes associated with cellulite. The thermal response also aims to support circulation in the treated area.
Targeted Pressure Energy
Mechanical pressure energy is delivered alongside the RF to the tissue. This mechanical component aims to address fluid retention and circulation patterns in the tissue — both of which are contributing factors to the appearance of cellulite.

The treatment experience

Your first appointment begins with a body and skin assessment. Your practitioner will assess the treatment area, discuss your concerns and confirm the approach and expected number of sessions. Pricing is confirmed at this appointment.

During treatment, the Emtone handpiece is moved across the treatment area. Most clients describe a warming sensation combined with a mechanical pressure or tapping sensation from the pressure energy component. The treatment is generally well tolerated by most clients, though individual experiences vary. Sessions typically take between 20 and 30 minutes per treatment area.

Following treatment the skin in the treated area may appear mildly flushed and feel warm. This typically settles within a few hours in most cases. Most clients are able to return to their normal routine shortly after their appointment, though individual responses vary.

Treatment plan and maintenance

A minimum of 4 sessions is recommended for Emtone, typically delivered weekly for the initial course. Weekly sessions allow the tissue to respond progressively over the treatment period. Maintenance sessions are often recommended following the initial course to support the tissue response over time.

Downtime is generally minimal for most clients. The treatment area may appear mildly flushed and feel warm for a short period following each session. Most clients are able to return to normal activities shortly after their appointment.

As with all cellulite treatments, individual responses vary considerably. The appearance of cellulite is influenced by a range of factors including genetics, hormones, lifestyle and overall body composition — and no single treatment can address all of these factors. Realistic expectations are discussed at consultation.

Common questions

Can cellulite be permanently removed?+
Cellulite is a structural condition influenced by many factors including genetics, hormones, lifestyle and body composition. No treatment — including Emtone — permanently removes cellulite. Emtone addresses contributing factors in the tissue environment and may help manage the appearance of cellulite over the course of treatment and with ongoing maintenance. Realistic expectations are discussed at your consultation before any treatment proceeds.
Is this treatment appropriate for my skin type?+
Emtone uses RF and pressure energy rather than light, which means skin tone is generally not a limiting factor. The treatment is generally well tolerated across a broad range of skin types and body areas. Suitability is confirmed at consultation — your practitioner will assess the treatment area, your health history and any relevant contraindications before recommending treatment.
What does the treatment feel like?+
Most clients describe a warming sensation combined with a mechanical pressure or tapping sensation during treatment. The experience is generally well tolerated. Individual comfort levels vary — your practitioner can adjust settings based on your response during treatment.
How many sessions will I need?+
A minimum of 4 sessions delivered weekly is recommended for the initial course. Ongoing maintenance sessions are typically recommended following the initial course. The appropriate plan for your situation will be discussed at your initial consultation.
Can Emtone be combined with other body treatments?+
Yes — Emtone is often used as part of a broader body treatment plan. It may complement treatments such as Emsculpt NEO, Exion Body or Exilis Body depending on your concerns. Your practitioner will discuss which combination of treatments may be most appropriate for your goals at consultation.
Are there any contraindications?+
Emtone is not appropriate for individuals with certain implanted electronic devices such as pacemakers, metal implants in the treatment area, active skin conditions in the treatment area or certain medical conditions. It is not recommended during pregnancy. Your practitioner will conduct a full screening at consultation to confirm suitability.
Is this treatment recommended during pregnancy?+
Emtone is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Please advise your practitioner before booking.
