Combined muscle stimulation and radiofrequency in a single treatment
Emsculpt NEO is an evolution of the Emsculpt platform that combines two energies simultaneously — High-Intensity Focused Electromagnetic technology (HIFEM) for muscle stimulation, and radiofrequency (RF) energy targeting the fat layer in the treatment area. Both energies are delivered at the same time through a single applicator.
The HIFEM component induces supramaximal muscle contractions — contractions beyond what is achievable through voluntary exercise — stimulating a muscle adaptation and remodelling response. The RF component heats the fat cells in the treatment area, which may support a reduction in fat cell activity in the treated tissue over the course of treatment.
As with all body treatments, individual responses vary considerably. The degree to which Emsculpt NEO may influence body composition depends on a range of factors including starting condition, lifestyle, nutrition and consistency of treatment. Emsculpt NEO delivers HIFEM and RF energy at the same time through a single hands-free applicator placed on the treatment area. The two energies work on different tissue layers within the same session.
What to expect
The treatment experience
Your first appointment begins with a body assessment. Your practitioner will assess the treatment area, discuss your goals and confirm whether Emsculpt NEO is appropriate for your situation. Pricing is confirmed at this appointment.
During treatment, the Emsculpt NEO applicator is secured to the treatment area. You will feel both the muscle contractions from the HIFEM energy and warmth from the RF energy simultaneously. The intensity of the muscle contractions is gradually increased throughout the session. Sessions take approximately 30 minutes per treatment area.
Following treatment, the treated muscle group may feel similar to post-exercise muscle fatigue. The treatment area may also feel warm. Some mild muscle soreness in the 24 to 48 hours following treatment is not uncommon, though individual responses vary. Most clients are able to return to their normal routine shortly after their appointment.
Sessions + Downtime
Treatment plan and maintenance
A minimum of 4 sessions is recommended for Emsculpt NEO, typically spaced 5 to 10 days apart for the initial course. The interval between sessions allows the muscle and treated tissue adequate recovery time. Maintenance sessions are typically recommended following the initial course to sustain the treatment response over time.
Downtime is generally minimal for most clients. Mild muscle soreness in the treated area following each session is commonly reported and typically resolves within 24 to 48 hours in most cases. Individual responses vary.
